The customer will submit the £35 domestic visual electrical installation check form to Livewire, with all the mandatory fields completed. A Livewire representative will contact the customer to arrange a suitable time to complete the free domestic visual electrical installation check at the customer’s property.
Livewire will normally attempt to complete the £35 domestic visual electrical installation check at the customer’s property within 10 working days of receiving the completed form.
Tenants of private landlord property or tenants of council property should contact the landlord or council directly as it is their responsibility to ensure the electrical safety of the installation at the property, not the tenant.
Each £35 domestic visual electrical installation check will be undertaken by suitably qualified electricians. They will assess the fixed wiring of the property to identify any visible deterioration or alterations that may be required to comply with the relevant wiring regulations. The following circuits will be tested, if they are relevant to the property:

In conjunction with the checks above we will assess the condition of the consumer unit, estimate the age of the electrical installation and add any comments relevant to the current electrical installations. The electrician will show the property owner the results of the check and explain the detail.
The property owner will be asked to sign the declaration, confirming that the details recorded are an accurate assessment, within the limits specified.
Any comments and recommendations are produced at the time of a visual survey of the domestic electrical installation. These comments cannot indicate physical defects and problems in hidden parts of the installation such as cables concealed under the floor, within voids and areas not brought to their attention. Items in these areas will not be visually inspected and Livewire disclaims responsibility for such parts.
No testing will be undertaken to verify comments made from the visual inspection about essential safety features.
The results of the £35 domestic visual electrical installation check may provide information regarding the integrity of the electrical installation. Where we identify non compliance with the relevant wiring regulations or where the installation has deteriorated visibly, Livewire will offer a no obligation written quotation for a more detailed investigation or to implement the required corrective action.
The £35 domestic electrical check is available only for properties located in the Northwest of England.
This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom. If any provisions of this agreement are held to be invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall be struck out and the remaining provisions shall remain.
