LiveWire
was established in 2005 by Doug McCready. Doug worked in the family domestic appliance
business before gaining strong experience of hard wiring in electrical installation
and security alarm work. He has worked for several electrical contractors in the North
West on all aspects of domestic, commercial and industrial electrical contracts. LiveWire
North West Ltd employs four teams of electricians on electrical contracting projects
around the entire North West.

With considerable experience in the domestic electrical contracting field, Doug decided
to set up his own electrical contracting business, aiming primarly at the home market.

Preston University
At Preston University we have done a full refurbishment of the power and lighting system,
which included the installation of floor boxes.
Lancaster University
This re-wire of the biochemistry labs involved installing data cabling, wiring to fume
cabinets and the fire alarm system.
Skelmersdale Library – Energy Efficient Lighting
This project involved the full refurbishment of the power and lighting systems and included
the installation of photo and movement cell lighting systems. This energy saving system
dims the lights when it is bright outside and turns off lighting when it senses no movement
in a room. This type of lighting is becoming increasingly popular as companies seek
to save energy and reduce their carbon footprint.
New Apartment Complex – Birkenhead
Working on a sub contract basis, the wiring installation included the emergency lighting,
external lighting and smoke alarms for this 24 apartment development.
Landlords Electrical Maintenance
We have contracts with several rental property landlords to maintain the electrical
services to their properties. We have developed a system of work to enable us to provide
the level of service required for such contracts.

In addition to reliability, LiveWire is totally committed to working at the highest

are registered with the NICEIC. Our customers benefit from our NICEIC registration,
as all of our work is certified and covered by a 6 year independent guarantee.
Part P Registered
LiveWire is a Part P registered electrical contractor. As such we are able to self certify
our own work on line and local authority building regs are automatically notified.
Trust Mark Registered
LiveWire is registered with Trust Mark, a government endorsed standards scheme supported
by consumer groups and the building industry. Consumers are encouraged to deal only
with tradesmen who can prove that they meet the standards and qualify for registration
with Trust Mark.
